The Bank organized training sessions for students of the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC), covering digital banking, cybersecurity, and consumer rights.
As part of the training sessions, students were informed about the key differences between debit and credit cards, essential points to consider when selecting card products, digital payment methods, NFC and QR payments, as well as the secure use of digital payment solutions such as Apple Pay and Google Pay. Additionally, emphasis was placed on the importance of protecting personal data, avoiding the sharing of sensitive information on social media, regularly updating online account passwords, and exercising caution when connecting to public Wi-Fi networks.
Another focal point of the training was cybersecurity. Students were educated on various forms of phishing, online fraud and scam techniques, as well as practical defense mechanisms that can be applied to protect against these risks.
Under the topic of consumer rights, trainers explained the critical aspects to pay attention to when signing agreements with the bank, the purpose of the Standard Information Form, and the importance of reading this document carefully prior to signing. Furthermore, guidance was provided on the significance of contacting the financial institution first in the event of any grievances or issues, alongside details on the option and general procedures for appealing to the Central Bank or courts.
The training sessions were conducted by professional trainers from Expressbank — Tofig Mehdiyev, Head of Economic Security Division, and Alvina Aliyeva, Head of Consumer Protection Division.
As a responsible financial institution, Expressbank considers elevating financial literacy in society a core direction of its corporate social responsibility strategy. The Bank places special emphasis on properly educating young people about financial products and services, encouraging the safe use of digital financial tools, and raising awareness of consumer rights. Moving forward, the Bank intends to continue implementing educational initiatives in this direction.
